What do you call a part cafe, part arts training facility, part music venue, part art gallery, and part community gathering and meeting center all in the heart of Smyrna’s Historic Depot District?

You call it “The 101” and it’ll be a place for kids, seniors, teens and adults to gather and experience connection, community, inspiration, and creativity, and  it’s coming soon.

Long before the opening of Carpe Cafe, Ron Alley had his eye on a building. A building that would not only become the centerpiece for Carpe Artista, but the cornerstone of a vibrant, active, and engaging downtown Smyrna.

Located directly across the street from the Historic Train Depot, the former Maribel and Weakley Department store building will soon fulfill that initial vision. Once the renovation is complete, 101 Front Street will be an important part of the ongoing renovation and revitalization of the area. Read on to learn more about this thrilling addtion to our town.

The first floor will be home to an expanded Carpe Cafe with a full stage with permanent sound and light systems. This will make Carpe Cafe the largest music venue between Nashville and Murfreesboro and allow us to feature regional and national acts in addition to our stellar line-up of local talents.

The second floor will house a dedicated Visual Arts training facility, music lesson rooms, multi-use meeting rooms, and an open gallery for art, business, and community functions. These spaces will allow for an unlimited array of creative uses for everyone in Smyrna.
