Ellen O’Day

Art Instructor

 

One Stroke Painting is a decorative style of painting developed by Donna Dewberry. After taking classes from local instructors for two years, Ellen became a Certified One Stroke Instructor in 2005 and has held classes over the years in several different venues.

She spent 3 years at the Baker-Hunt Foundation in Covington, KY learning under Velma Morris, one of the prominent artists in Cincinnati.

Ellen also spent several years learning from Connie Benjamin, an artist in Northern Kentucky.

Ellen is also interested in writing and was a journalism major in college. She published her first book in 2018, “And Then I Got Bit by Tarzan’s Monkey,” Published by Micropress Books.

Ellen moved to Smyrna in April 2019 to enjoy warmer weather.
“I didn’t pick up a paintbrush until I was passed 50. I had great teachers, learned a lot and have had a great time painting. I hope to instill that love of painting into my students.” -Ellen
