SMYRNA DEPOT FARMERS MARKET 2020
Modified Plans
When we open on Saturday, May 23, 2020, Smyrna Depot Farmers Market will have a different look in order to maintain social distancing during this COVID-19 era. We ask that you read the information below carefully and that you help us keep each other safe and healthy.
We have implemented policies with our vendors which are intended to keep them and you safe. When you arrive at the market, you’ll notice wider spaces between vendor tents and that vendors and staff will be wearing masks. Our Market Manager will be roaming throughout the market to ensure that vendors and customers are following social distancing guidelines and to assist in any way necessary to our vendors and customers.
Most significantly, the market will be a place for purchasing needed foods to feed your families and neighbors while limiting gatherings. In order to move people in-and-out quickly and to minimize the crowds, we will not have our Kidz Zone, artisan crafters, or any other non-food related services at this time. We ask that you come out, purchase what you need, and cheerfully make room for the next customer. We ask that only the primary shopper for each household come to the market, and if possible, children should stay home. We are taking the current COVID situation seriously, and we know that you will as well.
Demonstrations and food trucks will not be held until a later date based on Safer at Home Guidelines. This is to discourage mingling while at the market. We will have a limited number of vendors inside the depot, along with restrooms facilities available through the North side Depot doors. We ask that there is no lingering inside the Depot building.
As the season progresses, our market manager will coordinate with Carpe Artista and the Town of Smyrna in order to update these guidelines as needed. All updates will be posted on our social media pages. Please follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. If you have any questions about these, please feel free to contact us via email or on our social media.
Please do the following in order to continue to keep our market safe:
- If you are sick (for any reason), please stay home.
- Please send one person from your family to the market to shop if possible. We are open only for you to obtain essential goods.
- Please wear a face covering while attending the market.
- Maintain 6 feet away from others at all times.
- Do not touch any products for sale. The vendors will handle the product and help you make your selections. If a customer is ahead of you in line, please line-up maintaining a 6’ spacing.
- Wash your hands frequently or use hand sanitizer. Restrooms are located inside the Depot, and hand sanitizer available at the market.
- Pets are not allowed at the market at this time.
We hope to see you at the market (behind a mask!).
